Before we left Venice we had to see Gallerie dell' Accademia di Venezia! The restored rooms and the art is spectacular!

Heading out to the temple in one of my #Gadwal saris! I shelved this sari for nearly six years since I bought it thinking I made a mistake with the color but the bright yellow cotton paired with a lovely deep maroon and green silk border with silver gold zari is now one of my favorites! All dressed up last week for my niece's wedding in New Jersey!! Loved dressing up these past three months in beautiful Indian saris and jewels I've collected over the years and I think I'm going to try and wear them as often as I can from now on. Thanks to the jump start with three family weddings in a row!! Besides they are too beautiful to be stored away!! This one is a peacock color Kanjeevaram silk sari with silver gold zari lines all over and is from the late 1980s. Thanks to M we saw one of the most beautiful and oldest temples in India - Bhoga Nandeeshwara Temple at the foot of Nandi Hills near Bangalore - built in the 9th Century AD by Nolamba dynasty and continued to be improvised and maintained right up to Tipu Sultan, the temple was built entirely by hand carved stone. It is one of the finest and oldest examples of true Dravidian architecture and design!! #india #incredibleindia #temple #dravidianarchitecture
